Wales v Samoa

I am not a rugby fan and have no idea how they play ..hehe...but recently i went to Millennium Stadium to watch a game between Wales v Samoa! It was interesting and Wales was great ! My first ever experience watching live game n quite funny to be fair ;1) i missed the Samoa dance because ppl blocked my view (u know how 'tiny' i am compared to others),2) i understood the whole game by listening to the comment made by the person sitting besides me (lucky he could make good comments when the game was on), 3) i didn't get a chance to watch Shane William and Stephen Jones playing (they were not in the team coz its just Samoa team...heheh...) AND 4) i missed taking nice pix because i didn't bring my camera battery!! arggghhh (lucky we had a camera phone wif us!!) ....Whatever it is...Wales!! Wales!! Wales won 17-13!

Berlin, Germany & Poznan, Poland

Me and flatmates went for another trip last month after Raya to Berlin, Germany and Poznan, Poland. Everyone was asking, why Poznan? No particular reason except to get cheaper flight back to UK..heheh...that's why, our trip starts from UK (Bristol) to Berlin to Poznan and back to UK...We stayed two nights in Berlin and one night in Poznan.

Although we had very limited time in Berlin but we managed to visit almost all the important places that should be visited including Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Cathedral, Brandenburger Gate and many more (as usual...I hv forgotten the names!) . The transportation was good and I think the Germans work hard! Why? We had to catch early train to Poznan from Berlin and we tot no one would be as early as us but we were wrong coz the train was full of people going to work at 5.30am!

From Berlin, we took a train to Poznan. It took about 3 hrs to reach there. Poznan is a small city compared to Berlin and our hotel is just few minutes walk from the Old Market Square (thousands of people spend time here as there are many pubs and restaurants around..claimed as the most beautiful market square in Poland). This city is an important historical centre of the country. It is also known as one of the oldest historical cities in Poland. Other than that, Poznan is important for trade, industrial and educational systems. I've uploaded some of the pix when I was there and pix of nice buildings and places too...who knows, u might be interested to visit Berlin and Poznan after this? enjoice!

...nice view...

Me, Brighton & British Acedemy of Mgmt (BAM)

View all 8 photos...
A week before Syawal, I went to Brighton for a conference organised by BAM. Though my field is in consumer behaviour, this conference covers all topics that come under Business & Management. I find the conference was 'OK', probably because papers presented were mainly for HR or management ppl (as expected) but i appreciate sessions for doctoral students and talking to other Phd candidate..(fiuh ...at least i know i'm not alone when things are not happening according to plan..) ...The conference held at Brighton Centre, facing the sea (nice view!). Unfortunately, I stayed a bit far from the Brighton Centre and just managed to go to the sea once during the conference ... Anyway, thanks to BAM for giving me sponsorship to attend and participate this conference.. It's another great experience being a student in UK...

Academy of Marketing Conference, Leeds

As a student, attending conferences and presenting our work to others are part of the ‘Phd journey’ (according to my supervisor). Not only to establish ‘networking’ but actually to get constructive comments and feedback from various people in the same area. Subscribing to what my SV’s opinion and view, I registered myself to attend the Doctoral Colloquium (DC) organised by the Academy of Marketing.

This year, the conference held in Leeds. So, I presented my paper based on my latest findings and hoping to get comments and feedback from the delegates…Indeed, there were good comment and feedback from the delegates and I was a bit more confident with my framework because to me, doing a PhD without discussing it with others might lead to the ‘SS’ syndrome (‘SS’ stands for syiok sendiri) …hehe… I supposed there were almost 50 Phd students attended the DC …

Leeds is a nice place to be and the Univ now has a new building (the Rose Bowl)…I wanted to take photos but I totally forgot to bring along a camera to Leeds (unbelievable! so used to have Bee and Zuha around to take my pix…hehe)..

hmm...tu la..asyik nak jadi model je.... Mon 3-Aug-2009 10:56

Shyam's visit to UK

Us at Buckingham Palace, London

View all 26 photos...
Pretty busy to update my FP lately. One of the reasons was because I had to entertain one of my frens fr Msia. Shyam came to visit me in Cardiff for 10 days…actually, we’ve talked about her trip to Cardiff for ages …even before I got myself registered in Cardiff…hehe…I’m glad she kept her promise to visit me…yeay!

As soon as she confirmed her tix to UK..i immediately plan out a detail plans for us to cover as many places as possible but at the lowest cost possible ..hehe… I told her that she needs to get herself a pair of very comfortable shoes for walking coz ‘walking’ would be the best one word that describes the whole trip…hahah….and I really made her walk…and walk…walk..and walk..

On the first day, we went to London and I brought her to all the MUST go attractions places which include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben Tower, London Bridge, Westminster Building and etc…she nearly gave up halfway and I told her that she can always go other places (Covent Graden and Trafalqar Square) next time but she said…'NO…I must go those places' …I just laughed and she managed to go all these places too and luckily she liked Covent Garden ( I like this place a lot! And that’s the reason I brought her there..)

After London, it was Cardiff (my place). I brought her to Sully (claimed by the Msians in Cardiff as the best car boots around…hmm..probably yeahh). And again, she was lucky coz the weather was good and she got herself so many things (belts, handbags and bla..bla…).

The next day we went to the other part of UK (Northern Ireland)…I’ve nvr been there and that was my first experience to Belfast, Northern Ireland (nope ..it is not Ireland but it is part of UK). We spent two nites there and we wento n the hop on and hop off bus to get a quick tour there… We’ve been told about the history of Titanic, Belfast CityHall (u'll find the exact building in Africa too!), Ulster, and etc…

Shyam was supposed to flyback to Cardiff with me from Belfast but her aunty invited her to Scotland and she decided to visit her aunty (obviously she should…)…once she got back to Cardiff, she had to pack her things and she bought herself a tix straight to Heathrow on her 10th day visit to UK…. She was a bit reluctant to go back…hehe…(I told her thats normal..hehe..just like getting back to work on Monday after a longg weekend)…To Shyam..thanks for coming and I hope you had a great time here in UK though ur legs have suffered a lot… hehehe…

wah....jd tourist guide sudaa..bestnye syad dpt kunjungan,,,lps n giliran we ol plak utk dientertain ye..ermm..tp bile???insyaAllah 1 sweet day..mn tau rezeki baby Wed 26-Aug-2009 16:33

Lille, France

View all 21 photos...
Lille is a city in northern France..It is the fourth largest metropolitan in France after Paris, Lyon and Marseille. Traveling to Lille is about 11/2 hr via Eurostar.. from here (Lille) to Brussels is another hour as Lille is situated on the Deule River, near France's border with Belgium.

Lille has been named the 2004 Culture Capital of Europe (no wonder they are having the conference here....culture..culture..). It has many interesting place to visit such as Bois de Bologne (largest park in the city), Lille Grand Palais (located in central of Lille with lots of eye catching piece of architecture), Lille Opera (showing variety of performance throughout the year), Old Stock Exchange (the most historic building in the city) and many more (i hardly remember all the places by now actually...)

lovely fotos, beautiful sights, keep sending Sun 24-May-2009 05:41
